Stripe+Amazon, Klarna Spending Overview and more
Hello, payment geeks!
It is Monday, so it is time for some payment and fintech news!
Amazon and Stripe partnership
We are often thinking of Stripe as AWS of payments. And now Stripe and Amazon are taking their partnership to the next level. It is definitely a big win for Stripe. In a nutshell that means Amazon will be relying more on Stripe payment tools for Amazon Commerce, Prime, AWS, Kindle, Audible, and others. At the same time Stripe is committing to rely on AWS for cloud services. Huge congratulations to both partners!
Klarna just did their Spotify Wrapped
EU based BNPL provider learned a cool trick from another Swedish based company and launched their year in review. Klarna just dropped a new solution that is going to change the way you keep track of your spending.
Klarna launched a 2022 Spending Overview that gives you a complete picture of all your purchases made through Klarna in one place. No more scrolling through bank statements or receipts, Klarna's got you covered! It's the ultimate shopping view that's gonna help you keep your finances in check.
“Euro zone” in Latam?
Brazil and Argentina are getting ready to create a common currency. This move is aimed at boosting trade and economic ties between the two countries. The new currency will simplify transactions and make it easier for businesses to operate in both countries.
The details of how this will be implemented are still being worked out, but it's a major step towards a more integrated and connected economy for both countries. This is definitely something to keep an eye on for those following the financial landscape in South America.
SEPA IBAN validation
If you accept SEPA as a payment method, you are likely familiar with the potential for fraud problems. Bad actors may provide fake or stolen IBAN information. Adyen has explicitly addressed this issue in their documentation.
“Due to the risk of chargebacks, we don't recommend using SEPA for one-off payments or the sale of physical goods.”
Surepay, the Netherlands based company is here to help. They launched a new portal for IBAN name checks to increase security and prevent online fraud. The portal provides real-time verification of IBAN numbers and names associated with them to help mitigate the risk of fraudulent transactions.
